Six steps from hello to handover

Renovation timelines are stressful enough without surprise costs and vague delivery dates. Our process is designed to give you clarity at every stage — and a single contact person who picks up the phone when you have questions.

1

Initial conversation

Call, email, or visit the Prinsengracht studio with photos and rough dimensions. We discuss scope, budget range, and timing. There is no obligation, and we will tell you honestly if we are not the right fit for your project.

If you proceed, we schedule a paid site visit (€195 within Amsterdam, credited on booking) within five working days.

Duration: 30–60 minutes · Cost: free enquiry / €195 site visit
2

Site measurement & brief

A designer visits with laser levels and records every angle, pipe, and socket that affects the design. You receive a written brief summarising materials discussed, storage requirements, and any building constraints within 48 hours.

Monument-listed properties and VvE rules are flagged early so we do not design something that cannot be approved.

Duration: 2–3 hours on site · Deliverable: written brief
3

3D design & sample review

We produce a 3D model and elevation drawings, usually within ten working days of measurement. You visit the studio — or join a video walkthrough — to review finishes, handle samples, and request changes.

Two revision rounds are included. Additional changes are billed at €85 per hour with a clear estimate before work continues.

Duration: 1–2 weeks · Revisions: 2 included
4

Fixed quote & deposit

Once you approve the design, you receive a fixed quote listing every line item: carcasses, fronts, hardware, delivery, installation, and VAT. No provisional sums or "subject to survey" clauses after this point.

A 40% deposit starts production. The quote is valid for sixty days; material price shifts beyond 5% trigger a conversation before we proceed.

Deposit: 40% · Quote validity: 60 days
5

Workshop production

Your furniture is built in Amsterdam-Noord by the same team that will install it. CNC cutting and hand-finishing happen under one roof. You are welcome to visit mid-production — many clients find it reassuring to see panels before lacquering.

Typical lead time is six to ten weeks depending on complexity and current queue. We confirm your install week four weeks before delivery.

Lead time: 6–10 weeks · Workshop visits welcome
6

Installation & aftercare

Our install team arrives with floor protection and assembles on site over one to three days depending on project size. The remaining 60% is invoiced on completion. We return after two weeks for hinge tuning and touch-ups — included in every contract.

A five-year warranty covers workmanship. Hardware carries separate manufacturer warranties from Blum and Hettich.

Payment: 40/60 · Warranty: 5 years craftsmanship

What you need to prepare

Having these ready speeds up the first visit and keeps your quote accurate. Do not worry if something is missing — we can work around it, but delays may push your install date.

  • Floor plans or hand-drawn sketches with approximate dimensions
  • Photos of the room from several angles, including ceiling lines
  • Appliance model numbers for kitchen projects
  • Landlord or VvE approval if required in your building
  • Your preferred install window (avoid peak moving season if flexible)
