Questions we hear every week

If your question is not here, call us on +31 20 244 18 36 or email [email protected]. We reply within one business day and are happy to talk through your project without pressure.

How long does a typical project take?

From design sign-off to installation, most residential projects take six to ten weeks. Kitchens at the larger end and commercial fit-outs often need eight to twelve weeks. We confirm your install week four weeks before delivery so you can coordinate other trades.

Rush slots are sometimes available at a 15% surcharge when the workshop queue allows — ask at quotation stage rather than after deposit.

Do you offer free quotes?

Initial enquiries are free, and we can give a budget range from photos and rough dimensions. A detailed fixed quote requires a site visit and 3D design, which starts with a €195 consultation (Amsterdam ring) credited in full when you book the project.

We do not compete with sketch-on-a-napkin estimates because they inevitably change once someone measures the sloping floor.

What areas do you serve?

Our workshop and studio are in Amsterdam. Most projects are in the city and surrounding Randstad — Haarlem, Amstelveen, Zaandam, Utrecht, and Hilversum regularly. Travel outside the Amsterdam ring incurs a €95 fee, credited on booking.

For projects beyond 80 km we assess case by case; delivery and install logistics affect feasibility more than distance alone.

Can you work in monument-listed buildings?

Yes — roughly a quarter of our residential work is in protected buildings. We coordinate with Monumentenzorg when visible changes need approval and match existing profiles when extending historic joinery.

Allow extra time for permit review. We document materials and finishes to support your application, though the permit itself remains your responsibility as property owner.

Do you supply appliances, sinks, and worktops?

We build cabinet carcasses and fronts. Worktops are sourced and installed by us or your contractor — oak, quartz, and laminate options are listed on our pricing page. Appliances and sinks are purchased by you; we need model numbers before final drawings so cut-outs are correct.

Plumbing, gas, and electrical connections must be completed by licensed trades. We provide dimension sheets two weeks before install to coordinate timing.

What warranty do you offer?

Every project includes a five-year warranty on workmanship — joints, fixings, and installation quality. Hardware from Blum and Hettich carries separate manufacturer warranties, typically lifetime on soft-close runners for domestic use.

Normal wear, water damage from leaks, and modifications by third parties are excluded. We include a free adjustment visit two weeks after installation.

What payment terms apply?

Residential projects: 40% deposit to start production, 60% on completion. Projects over €15,000: 40% deposit, 40% before delivery, 20% on completion. Commercial clients with approved credit may request milestone invoicing on contracts above €15,000 excl. VAT.

We accept bank transfer and iDEAL. Credit card payments include a 1.8% processing fee shown on your invoice.

Can I visit the workshop during production?

Absolutely — clients often visit when carcasses are assembled but before lacquering. It is a good moment to confirm colour and ask questions. Book via your project contact so someone is available to walk you through.

The Prinsengracht studio is also open for sample review by appointment, Tuesday through Friday 10:00–17:00.

What if I need changes after signing the quote?

Minor hardware swaps before production starts are usually absorbed. Structural changes after cutting begins are charged at cost plus €85/hour drafting time, with a written variation order before work continues.

Two design revision rounds are included in every project. Additional revisions are billed at €85/hour with an estimate upfront.

Do you remove old furniture or kitchens?

Demolition and disposal of existing units are not included by default. We can arrange it through a partner at €95/hour for two-person removal, quoted separately. Many clients coordinate removal the day before our install team arrives.

For kitchen projects, ensure old units and worktops are cleared unless we have agreed removal in your quote.

Still have questions? We would rather talk through your room than send generic brochures.
